Lessons in life

Life is full of mysteries. Sometimes there are situations where when you approach something with uttermost honesty and dedication, it would turn out to have a counter reaction towards you by not yielding the expected results. This does not mean that you should take up the path which is completely opposite to this. It just means you have to stop expecting the results. Instead you should make the path that you take into a positive one by either avoiding few things or being proactive in certain circumstances. For e.g.:- You think that you are in a honest relationship with another person but it would turn out to be in a way that the particular person does not have the same thinking as yours. Instead he/she is too dynamic in life i.e. can easily switch places or being dishonest with you. This is the way of life and this has always been the way of life. Be smart and choose the right way of life. There is no point choosing  a path based on your feelings and later relenting about it.

This is a short post but it is something that I would like to blog about. You can expect more interesting posts in the coming weeks.

Vacations- Trip back home to India

Hi guys,

Its been quite long but still here am with another post. I would write about my experience on trip way back home for summer break. Landed in Chennai and I was lucky because I landed at 11 in the night else I would have been dehydrated due to scorching heat. My family had planned a fantastic South India trip for 2 whole weeks. It was virtual South India pilgrimage except that we stayed in cozy hotels and travelled in fancy cars. Started off from Chennai we visited Trichy and to be precise we visited a place by the name Srirangam where the famous Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple was located. I was just amazed by the architecture of the temple and the size of the temple as well. It is known as one of the most holiest places for a Vaishnavite( Followers of Lord Vishu) The temple which is almost 800 years old was just a bliss for the eyes. The way it has been maintained all these years has no words to explain. Once we finished with Trichy we went to Karakudi which is a pit stop for most the Chettiars (one of the mercantile castes in Tamil Nadu). There is nothing much to shop or eat at this place because it is just a small town. We went to a ganesha temple called Pillayarpatti located at Thiruppatthur. It is known as one of the most powerful idols across Tamil Nadu. We finished off with all the pooja there and hopped on the car to travel to Rameshwaram. Rameshwaram is world famous tourism and a holy place which provided a important role in the epic Ramayanam. The place is quite simple but things to cover are quite a bit. We planned to go to Dhanushkodi which is the place where Vibishana, a brother of Ravana surrendered before Rama in the epic Ramayana. This place was washed away by the 1964 cyclone but the temple there remains intact. It was one awesome experience getting there. We hired a 4 wheel drive Mahindra mini bus where the mini buses actually drive all way through the beach (which is really precise work) and reach the place. Mind blowing driving and fantastic experience. Once we finished with Rameshwaram we started off to Madurai to visit the famous Madurai Meenakshi Temple. The temple a epitome of artistic work. The deity herself is so beautiful. Meenakshi Amman( as we call the deity). It was amazing and the temple made our evening really amazing. The next day we started off to Tanjavur. Tanjavur has a beautiful temple called the Tanjai Periya Kovil or known as Brihadeeswara Temple. The temple is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Great Living Chola Temples. It was built by Raja Raja Chola I during the 1010 AD period. The architecture of the temple was just mesmerising. Once we finished taking pictures we finished our South Indian virtual pilgrimage trip. We came back to Chennai and rested for two days. We then started off to Tirupathi to wave a "Hi" to Lord Venkateshwara. It was just a one day trip. Back to Chennai and after a day or so we started off the Kerala. We planned to visit Sri Krishna Temple located at a place by the name Guruvayur. Dropped down at Kochi and travelled by car to the place. We stayed there and had Darshan (sight) of the deity. On our way back to the Kochi aiport we visited Athirappilly Falls. The place was another amazing sight. This is the place where Raavan movie was shot. We had a chilled out time there and finally decided to finish off with trips. We came back to the City back and I planned to meet my friends in Chennai but could not (which was the only disappointing part). I came back to Bangalore and then caught up with my college mates. Had an entertaining and nostalgic time. Hogged in almost all the famous restaurants in Bangalore and then packed my bags to Auckland. It was a unforgettable trip and was fortunate to have such family and friends who always give you happiness and joy.

P.S: I wonder whether you guys read this post completely but still I shared my experience and thought few names and terms which I told would be useful at some point in your life when you are planning to visit them.

Have a great day. Cheers. God Bless.

The Power of Imagination

Hi Folks, I am back again with another interesting topic "Positive Thinking". Would you believe me if I say that "A lot of things happen in this world just by merely imagining or dreaming about it?". Well! That's a fact and the power of imagination. Lets consider a simple scenario where you want to visit a five star restaurant and their best possible dish. All you have to do is to imagine yourself entering the restaurant and eating the disk(though you never really know what are they going to serve you :P ). Now my point here is all the things in this world are connected and act like a magnetic field. Things you imagine have the highest possibility of you attracting it (whether its positive or negative). Whatever the heights or whichever the league you want to reach or enter just start imagining with a positive frame of mind and I assure you that it would be a cake walk. The purpose of me writing this post is that I have experienced it. One of my personal experience is my post graduate study in New Zealand. I have always dreamt of studying in this country. My heart asked me to apply to New Zealand whereas my brain "commanded" me to go for US. In the end you are where your heart belongs to because once something has indited inside your heart it means that you have imagined and dreamt a lot about it and it has sunk in so deep without your knowledge. You might think "This is nonsense man!" but this is the truth that cannot be argued upon. Never get contented with anything in life and crave for more success. World has abundant amount of competitors. You have to whack yourself every-time you lose focus. Be strong, stay strong. God Bless!!

Chaos in Parallel Programming

Finally felt like blogging again so here it is a new post, a new topic. This time it is more towards the technical side. For the past so many weeks I had this stupid doubt on threading concepts and threads. Most of the techies would understand what a thread is but those who haven't heard of the term at all its not a problem. You all could still give me some general comments which "might" clear my doubt. Basically a thread is a smallest unit of processing that can be scheduled by an operating system. Well! this is the definition but to explain in simple terms it is a process in your windows 7, mac. OK! so what is a process? It an unit of work or rather in simplest terms its one of your applications like Microsoft word or Tetris game. There are quite a few programming languages which would support threading. Well! I have heard most of my professors say threading is a logical process happening in the backend and there is no way to control it while it runs. My first questions Then what is the use of it? Most of the answers would be concurrent programming improves efficiency, makes your applications run faster blah blah blah. But still no one has answered my question(which is really simple) If you don't have the rights to control something then why use it? Now coming to the next doubt/question which is as stated by me "In Java you could start a thread saying .Start() or combine threads to run but applying the same parallel processing in c++ there are no inbuilt functions saying .start() instead you just use an API called openmp where you just specify #pragma parallel num_thread(n). Why use such API even? You dont even have an idea when the threading starts and stuff like that. Damn!! I am starting to realise one thing. "Never learn parallel programming" else such stupid doubts (which none can answer) arise.
P.S: Non techies. Sorry!! I got too carried away with the post that I forgot to explain few alien terms.

Life at Auckland

Hi Folks its been sometime since I blogged. So here it is a new post. I would be sharing with you about my life in Auckland which is a completely new path I chose to follow. It has been a marvelous journey till now. Auckland is a city which is known for its high cost of living. The city is at its best. People of from different cultural background walking side by side chatting and making new friends. The architectural view this city provides you is just blistering for your eyes. I just cant stop clicking pictures(though I use my I-Phone). The city looks way more advanced in beauty and technology than any of the Indian cities ( Now I am not criticizing my home country). The city gets rough on Friday nights and Saturday nights. The whole city will be in party mode. You got to catch up some guts if you want to walk at 2A.M on these nights. Otherwise people here are really friendly and cool nature types. I think that should be enough to give you some virtual pictures of Auckland.

CRISIS IN INDIA

Stock markets on the brink of crashing, corrupt politicians, economy at its worst. I am not talking about a scene from Die Hard 4 movie. I am talking about the current situation in India. India once known for its riches and culture is now on the verge of breaking apart. The Rupee vs dollar at all time low, fuel prices increased vastly and the worst part politicians sleeping in the parliament during sessions. What is the source to all these problems in India? Is it the corrupt politicians who have heaps of black money? Is it the people who have no interest to invest in India any-more? Whenever the rupee deteriorates we just put the blame on some European country pulling out or recession in the USA. I would ask what measures have we taken in-order to become the so called "Developed India 2020"? Nothing!! Nothing at all. As long as we have such politicians who make a living out of others money we wont be a developed nation at all. We Indians are hard working and have the capability to do much greater things that what the Americans do but the barrier which stops us is "My Money, My Life" act. I am not asking you to live for the country but I am asking you to make a valid infinite-small contribution to the country which would make a difference. Once you have finished reading the post you would think "He keeps asking us to do. What has this fellow done to this country?" To be honest till this date I haven't but I believe that I would in future. I am being honest about this. I would also expect the same from your side. Jai Hind!!

Anna Hazare - Is it fair and square?

The word corruption has taken a toll on many people's lives in India. Corruption has been always been an add-on bonus for any government party which comes to power in India. Recently the level of corruption is known to increase to a considerable level where people of India can take no more.

At this time a person names Anna Hazare comes forward to take a drastic step in order to eradicate this corruption from the country. Anna Hazare along with his soldiers forming Team Anna did introduce something called Jan-Lokpal Bill. This Jan-Lokpal bill is basically introduced in-order to filter out the corrupt pawns out of the government. After repeated requests to the government to pass this bill there has been no considerable step taken. As a result of this Anna Hazare has started the Epic way of protesting "The Hungry-strike". Seeing a man fighting for his country the Indian youths have also joined him forces to intensify the heat of protest and the importance of Jan-Lokpal Bill.

It has been like almost half a month and the government is still deaf. The reason is as simple as it gets. Once the Jan-Lokpal bill is passed the ministers will be majorly targeted and it will be like a frog inside a snake's mouth. Every minister involved in every form of corruption will be punished with a minimum jail sentence of about 3 years. If you were one of them you wont even dream of passing the bill.

If the bill is passed will it really make a difference? I would say India would still remain the same. Once a man gets power and pride he would for sure use it in his favor and I dont think anybody controlling a country will be humble and follow the slogan "for the people, by the people". My predictions can always be wrong.

I am proud to be an Indian and will remain to be so but if we want to destroy the term corruption in India its upto the people of India to do so. Stop bribing and stop getting bribed. Such protests will only lead to traffic jams and late to office problems. And do not mistake me. I just told how things has to be done in the proper and fair way. That is the main reason for me to write this post.
